A Celebration of Pets - Vendors Welcome!

We will once again host a Celebration of Pets on the first Sunday in October -- October 2, 2022.  The Celebration will feature our “resident” D.J. Emilio with photo booth and our fabulous Pet Parade will take place at 2:30pm with prizes in many categories.  This is a family friendly event which takes place in the Verona Town Square from 1 to 4pm.  Use this form for vendor registration.

We are looking for pet-related vendors.  There is no charge to participate, we just ask that you complete a registration form and email it to the Church Office by Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Vendors may bring whatever you need for your set-up: tables, chairs, canopies.  You may utilize signs, brochures, give-aways -- whatever you need to publicize your business.  We welcome rescue and adoption groups with candidates for adoption and fostering, and vendors with all sorts of pet-related products and services, such as toys and clothes, leashes, harnesses, specialty food products, pet-sitters, dog trainers, pet photographers, dog-walkers, pet hotels, groomers and so much more!  You may sell merchandise and services on site, or take orders for your products.

We will be extending our publicity for the Celebration of Pets this year to reach more social media outlets, local TV, additional civic and community groups, schools, and newspapers.  We hope you will join us at the festivities!

Please address any questions to office@holyspiritverona.org.

BINGO Fund Raiser

Holy Spirit Verona will host another Friday BINGO Fund Raiser on Friday, September 16 at 7pm; doors open and BINGO cards go on sale at 6pm.  Entrance fee (with sheets for ten games) is $20; the first number is called at 7pm.  Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase, and you are welcome to bring your own food.  No alcohol is allowed and you must be 18 years old to play BINGO.  Masks are recommended.

Additional set of sheets may be purchased for $15 and extra sheets for our cover-all game (Game #10) can be purchased for $5.

Holy Spirit Food Pantry Is Open

Our August 27 Food Pantry will accept shoppers in the lower level from 9 to 11am; masks will be required.  This is our 5th "in-person" shopping day since Feb. 2020.  Shoppers will remain in their vehicles with a limited number being invited inside at a time.  Home deliveries are still available for Verona/Cedar Grove residents who are unable to visit Pantry; contact our Church Office for arrangements.

The first shift of volunteers is from 8:15-9:45am and the second shift is from 9:45-11:15am. The Food Pantry is open the 4th Saturday of every month from 9-11am. Click for more information.

Fundraising - Gift Cards On Sale

As a fundraiser, you can purchase gift cards (sometimes referred to as Scrip) for local grocery stores -- namely ShopRite, The Fresh Grocer and Kings.  Every $100 you purchase from us, $5 goes to the general operating account of the Church.  It's a simple way to help raise money for the Church of the Holy Spirit.  If you are interested in making a purchase, email our Church Office to make arrangements.

Food Pantry Received Matching Grant

This summer, there is a wonderful opportunity to support the Holy Spirit Food Pantry financially.  The Heavenly Finds Thrift Shop, a sister ministry of Church of the Holy Spirit, has offered to match all monetary donations made to the Food Pantry this summer up to $5,000.  This means that by September, the Pantry could have up to $10,000 on hand to purchase inventory!  Please consider a donation to the Holy Spirit Food Pantry.

Funds may be donated by check, or via the Holy Spirit website, or through Venmo (Holy Spirit Verona @Jerry-Racioppi-2 [6663]). Please indicate “Food Pantry” in either the memo line or comment section.  All contributions will be appreciated -- no amount is too small.
