Service of Lamentation

Wednesday, March 14

The Church of the Holy Innocents, West Orange and the Church of the Holy Spirit, Verona will be hosting a joint prayer vigil on Wednesday, March 14, at 7pm to observe the one month anniversary of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida, and to pray for all victims of gun violence.  The Venerable Chris McCloud and The Rev. Jerry Racioppi invite you to join in this service of lamentation, which will take place at Holy Innocents, 681 Prospect Avenue, West Orange.

Maundy Thursday Service

The most dramatic worship service of the year!  Join us on Thursday, March 29 at 7:30pm for our Maundy Thursday worship service.

Choral Eucharist / Dig Up Alleluia Banner

Sunday, April 1

A festive Eucharist service with music, followed by coffee hour in the Fellowship Hall.

Children should arrive by 9:50am to help dig up the Alleluia Banner (buried on Ash Wednesday).

Rosary for Anti-Gun Violence

Holy Spirit Verona Parishioner, Dr. Tom Malanga, has taken on an action this Lent.  Each day, Monday through Friday, at 8:30am he will say the rosary in our Chapel for the kids killed during the Parkland Florida shooting and hopes for better gun laws.  If you would like to join in these prayers, please do.  In the event that Dr. Malanga is not there that day, consider taking 20-30 minutes and saying the rosary yourself.  BYOR (Bring your own Rosary).

Easter Egg Hunt

After our Easter Sunday (April 1) Worship, we'll gather outside to watch the children gather up the Easter eggs that have been placed around for their discovery and enjoyment (eggs are filled with candy).  

Private Prayer & Reflection

On Good Friday (March 30) our main Church will be available for private prayer and reflection.  

"Whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." Matthew 6:6

Easter Vigil

Join us for our Vigil Celebration of Easter on the eve before (Saturday, March 31) at 7:30pm when we light the new fire and experience the move from darkness into light.

Good Friday Children's Stations of the Cross

Friday, March 30

On Good Friday (March 30) at 10am we offer a Stations of the Cross service for children where the kids carry a large cross in and around the church.
