A Celebration of Pets 2016 Photos
On October 2, 2016, we hosted what we hope will be an annual Celebration of Pets in the Verona Civic Center from 1 to 3pm.  We have always marked the first Sunday in October with a blessing of the animals, in honor of St. Francis, their patron.  This year, we planned something of broader appeal: an afternoon in the town square which allowed everyone to honor all their four-footed, winged, and finned friends by recognizing their importance in our lives and the joy they bring us each day. On Sunday, October 2, 2016 we celebrated the Feast of Saint Francis and the Blessing of the Animals during our 10am worship.  Attendees brought cats, dogs, a snake, stuffed animals and a few photos too.  Each pet received a personalized blessing at the conclusion of service. View

The clergy leaders of six of Verona's houses of worship revived a long-standing tradition in town on Sunday, November 22 at 3pm by hosting an Interfaith Thanksgiving Service.  The interdenominational event was held at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church and featured choristers from OLL, First Presbyterian Church of Verona and the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit.
