On Sunday, September 30, 2018 the newly consecrated Bishop of the Diocese of Newark made her first visitation to Church of the Holy Spirit.  The Right Reverend Carlye J. Hughes was the celebrant and preacher at our 10am worship service.  She also joined in a forum during Coffee Hour and shared a lunch with the Vestry Members and Diocesan Convention Deputies. Pentecost Sunday 2018 was May 20, and it was a true celebration at Church of the Holy Spirit.  We had tounges of fire, a dove, red candles, the congregation wore red, we heard scripture in foreign languages and we shared in a red Coffee Hour.  Thank you to our resident Sunday School teacher and photographer Kathleen Gentile. On Sunday, December 17, our Sunday School students participated in this year's Pageant entitled "Christmas Wonder." The scriptwriter was Ms. Mary Garland, and the directors were Sunday School Teachers Ms. Ashley and Ms. Kathleen with assistance from Father Jerry. The photos tell the story and share the fun! View

A Celebration of Pets

A Celebration of Pets 2017 Photos
On Sunday, October 1 from 1-4pm Holy Spirit Verona hosted our second annual Celebration of Pets in the Verona Town Hall Square with pet-orientated activities, vendors, crafts-people, and more.  This year we added DJ music provided by Automatic Entertainment, food vendors and a Pet Parade at 2pm with prizes in several categories.  It was a great chance to celebrate our love for all of God's creatures! On Gathering Sunday, September 10, 2017, our Choir returned to a regular singing schedule, we offered and special blessing for backpacks and we enjoyed a lovely outdoor potluck coffee hour!  No one left spiritually or physically hungry. View

Blessing of the Animals 2017 Photos
On Sunday, October 1, 2017 we once again celebrated the Feast of Saint Francis and the Blessing of the Animals during our 10am worship.  Attendees brought cats, dogs, a fish, stuffed animals and a few photos too.  Each pet received a personalized blessing at the conclusion of service. View
